Key Responsibilities:
Handle inbound and outbound calls, effectively determining needs and aiming for one-call resolutions.
Report adverse events within established timeframes to ensure compliance.
Create and accurately complete referrals and applications while staying updated on policy and procedural changes.
Investigate and resolve patient or physician inquiries and concerns promptly.
Enter detailed information into company-specific software during phone conversations.
Make outbound calls for patient follow-ups or confirmations, enhancing communication.
Exhibit exceptional customer support skills that promote positive patient experiences.
Collaborate with patient referral sources to process new applicants efficiently.
Manage patient accounts from the initial contact through to final approval or denial.
Prioritize multiple assignments and maintain a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
Provide empathetic support, guiding patients through conversations while educating them on processes and strategies.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is required.
1-3 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
Previous customer service experience is desirable.
Familiarity with call center practices and procedures is a plus.
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial payer policies for coverage is beneficial.
Understanding of Diagnostic Medical Expense and Medicare Administrative Contractor practices is preferred.
A clear understanding of Medical, Supplemental, and pharmacy insurance benefit practices is critical.
Excellent written and verbal communication, mediation, and problem-solving skills to connect effectively with patients, caregivers, and providers.
Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating flexibility, persistence, creativity, empathy, and trust.
Proficiency in computer skills, including data entry and MS Office programs.

Training and Work Schedule: New hire training hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST, with mandatory on-camera attendance. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week), with flexibility to work various shifts in our normal business hours, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM CST.
Remote Work Details: This is a full-time remote position requiring a distraction-free environment with high-speed internet access. Cardinal Health will provide the necessary computer, technology, and equipment for successful job performance. You are responsible for maintaining a secure, high-speed broadband internet connection at your remote location. Requirements include:
Download speed of 15Mbps.
Upload speed of 5Mbps.
Maximum ping rate of 30ms.
Hardwired connection to the router.
A surge protector with Network Line Protection for Cardinal Health issued equipment.
Compensation: Hourly range is anticipated between $21.50 and $30.65, with pay determined by various factors including geographic location, relevant education, experience, and internal pay equity.
