Compensation Range: $35.70 - $39.72. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to fair market value evaluation. Job DescriptionExperience in admitting and/or ambulatory setting or patient registration in an outpatient setting. Two years of experience in healthcare/medical admissions.
Three years of relevant experience at least one being in the role of the patient access specialist ii. Three years of relevant experience.
Strong computer skills, with proficiency in office automated tools: e-mail, outlook and data entry. Effective communicator with all levels of staff, patients and customers. Displays emotional control. Ability to respond positively to fluctuations in patient flow. Heavy phones, able to triage phone calls and respond professionally to fluctuations in call volume. Coachable. Knowledge of front end role in revenue cycle: insurance benefits collection, verification, authorization, pre-certification, etc. Working knowledge of medical terminology. Self directed, motivated, resourceful, demonstrates initiative. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications: Word, Excel, Outlook. Proficiency in EPIC Prelude and Cadence. Performs accurate typing at 45-60 wpm. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages. Bilingual understanding of health insurance liabilities.
Physical working conditions: sitting in the same location or standing/walking; required to stoop, climb or lift light material (10 to 20 lbs.) or equipment.
Environmental working conditions: indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature, and noise. Examples: patient care providers and laboratory technicians.
Hazards OSHA Category 2: tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other potentially infectious materials; but employment may require performing unplanned Category 1 tasks.
