Patient Access Reviewer - CATHOLIC HEALTH SERVICES OF LONG ISLAND : Job Details

Responsible for insurance verification and ensures all required pre-certifications/authorizations are obtained and on file per Managed Care guidelines. Responsible for conducting pre-admit and/or day of testing patient interviews to ensure complete and accurate demographics and insurance information are entered into the Hospital Information System as well as scheduling in EPIC. Responsible for ordering tests and procedures in Cadence and Radiant. Communicates efficiently with Radiology, Wound Care and Infusion Staff as well as patient and physician's offices. Ability to give patient information and direction regarding preparation for tests, insurance authorizations, explaining hospital disclosures and consent forms. Advises patients of their financial responsibility payable at time of service. Responsibilities include financial counseling, screening self pay patients, accepting patient payments and related clerical/secretarial duties.
