Job OverviewThe Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) Corporation is seeking Engineers (EES) to join their team. Be part of a vital transit link that keeps the region moving! The Locomotive Engineer Trainee, also known as the Extra Engineer/Switching (EES), reports to the Trainmaster, Assistant Trainmaster, Operations Examiner, and Train Dispatcher/Terminal Supervisor. This role involves operating trains safely and in compliance with federal and PATH regulations, serving as a stepping stone to becoming a fully qualified Locomotive Engineer.
ResponsibilitiesCandidates will undergo written, practical, and oral assessments, including a study guide available online. A comprehensive background check and medical exams are required.
Compensation & BenefitsStarting pay is $36.89/hour, with a competitive benefits package. The role requires working in a safety-sensitive environment with mandatory drug testing. Employees must work nights, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather, with potential mandatory overtime.
