One of Atlanta's premier golf clubs is looking to hire talented and driven culinarians. Candidates must have at least 2 years experience working in a professional kitchen and be able to work under a certified master chef. Must be available to work all shifts including; evenings, weekends, and holidays. Job Summary:We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pastry Cook to join our kitchen team. The Pastry Cook will be responsible for creating high-quality baked goods, including cakes, cookies, tarts, pies, and other desserts. The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of classic pastry techniques and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods.
- Follow recipes and maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
- Create and decorate pastries and desserts to a high standard.
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met.
- Manage the inventory of baking ingredients and ensure proper storage.
- Work with the kitchen team to meet production timelines and service needs.
- Assist in creating new menu items and special dessert offerings.
- Monitor and maintain the quality of ingredients used.
- Operate and maintain bakery equipment, ensuring all tools and machinery are clean and in good working condition.
Qualifications:- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or Baker.
- Formal culinary training or certification in pastry arts is preferred.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and processes.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly with presentation and flavor combinations.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to lift heavy bags of flour, sugar, and other ingredients, and stand for long periods.
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to develop new pastry and dessert recipes.
- Experience in working with specialized dietary needs (e.g., gluten-free, vegan, etc.).
- Knowledge of modern pastry trends and techniques.
Position Classification and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. The assigned hours to this position vary each week according to event schedules, but include working on holidays and weekends.
