Job Type Full-time Description The Rasmussen Group Parts Specialist supports our private fleet maintenance operations. This role is responsible for ordering, receiving, stocking, and tracking parts and supplies, as well as processing purchase orders and invoices. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring that technicians have the right parts at the right time to minimize equipment downtime. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Source and order parts and supplies needed for fleet maintenance and repairs
  • Label, stock, and organize parts in the shop's inventory system and storage areas.
  • Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
  • Receive incoming parts and verify against purchase orders and invoices for accuracy.
  • Provide updates to the shop manager and technicians regarding part availability and lead times.
  • Assist technicians in locating and checking out parts for work orders.
  • Coordinate special orders and back-ordered parts to ensure prompt delivery.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
  • Open, maintain, and close purchase orders in the fleet management system.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the parts room and storage areas.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
  • Maintain warranty part returns
  • Other duties assigned.

  • Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 1+ years related experience required.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in a parts department, warehouse, or procurement role-preferably in a transportation or fleet maintenance environment.
  • Familiarity with automotive or heavy-duty truck parts is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with fleet maintenance software
  • Proficiency in maintenance and fleet management software. Understanding of work order processing and asset tracking.
  • Possess basic accounting knowledge related to labor, parts, outside repairs and operational costs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to multitask and work effectively under time and scheduling conflicts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must consistently produce and efficient, accurate work product.
Work Requirements
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least 18 years in age or older.
  • Ability to lift and move parts and materials (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Must pass post-offer employment drug screen, background check, physical, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and/or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.

  • The employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Regularly requires standing, walking, lifting, and handling of parts and equipment.
  • Primarily shop and warehouse environment.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday Day Shift 7:30am to 4:30pm.
