Summary A Maintenance Parts Procurement Coordinator shall be responsible for the research, ordering, receipt, and inventory of parts for the continued and efficient operation and maintenance of the plant's equipment, systems, and machines under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager Essential Functions
  • Parts research, pricing, and availability for inventory replenishment or need.
  • Establish/maintain accounts and positive vendor relations.
  • Ordering, receiving, storage, labeling, and organizing parts inventories.
  • Processing of electronic purchase orders: submission, recording, etc.
  • Responsible for working with a minimum amount of supervision in all key areas.
  • Responsible for reporting daily work orders and activity reports.
  • Determine parts dispositions as needed.
  • Responsible for all work being done in a timely fashion and done properly.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
  • Follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP).
  • Responsible for care and maintenance of company tools.
  • Follow all safety and working rules.
  • Must have the ability to get along with co-workers, management personnel, customers, vendors, and employees in accordance with the company policies and working rules while ensuring a harmonious and conducive work environment.

  • Must have the ability to maintain parts inventory levels.
  • Must be able to utilize computer database(s) to properly track and process purchases
  • Must be willing to ask for assistance when the process is unclear.
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented.
Education and/or Experience Minimum 1-2 years experience in a similar purchasing position or 1-2 years experience in a maintenance environment or equivalent formal training. Experience with preventative maintenance (PM) programs is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred.
  • Basic computational skills are required.
  • Simple math reasoning is required.

Sitting/Standing/Walking: The maintenance parts procurement clerk during the course of an 8-hour workday will do all three and may walk several hundred feet over uneven surfaces. Lifting/Carrying: Each workday, the maintenance parts procurement clerk may lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and 75 pounds on an occasional basis. Pushing/Pulling: Each workday, occasional pushing/pulling is done while managing inventory levels. Bending/Stooping: Both are done regularly during the course of a workday. Squatting/Kneeling/Crawling: Each workday, squatting and kneeling are done frequently. Crawling is done occasionally. Twisting/Turning: Frequent twisting and kneeling are done while doing regular duties each workday. Climbing/Balancing: Some vertical ladder climbing and balancing may be required during the course of a workday. Reaching: Frequently reaching from floor level to shoulder level done during an 8-hour workday. Grasping/Manipulating: Frequent use of hands and fingers while receiving parts and inventories. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Employees will be subject to temperatures from 34 to over 100 degrees. Personal protective equipment including, but not limited to hearing protection, bump caps, hair and beard nets, gloves, and eye protection must be used in the performance of duties.
