A highly respected Pacific Northwest-based law firm is seeking a Land Use Attorney to join its Real Estate and Environmental practice group. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience in Washington land use law and a passion for guiding clients through a wide range of zoning, permitting, regulatory, and governmental matters. This role offers the flexibility to be considered at the Associate, Of Counsel, or Partner level, depending on qualifications, and includes significant client interaction within a collaborative and collegial firm environment.

Duties
  • Represent local, regional, and national clients in land use and zoning matters.
  • Conduct feasibility analyses for development projects.
  • Manage permitting processes at municipal and state levels.
  • Provide regulatory guidance and monitor changes in land use law and policy.
  • Advise clients on governmental relations and interface with agencies and officials.
  • Draft legal memoranda, review development applications, and assist with appeals or hearings when necessary.
  • Collaborate with attorneys in related practice areas including real estate and environmental law.
  • Engage in strategic planning and issue-spotting on complex land use developments.
  • Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Washington State land use law.
  • Demonstrated experience with zoning, permitting, and environmental compliance.
  • Ability to represent clients before planning commissions, hearing examiners, and other local or regional agencies.
  • Strong interpersonal and client service skills.
  • Interest in long-term professional development and team-based work culture.
  • Open to associate, of counsel, or partner-level candidates based on experience.
  • Education

    Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

    Certifications

    Admission to practice law in the State of Washington (required).
