Part-Time Veterinary Administrative AssistantDepartment: General Practice Hospitals Employment Type: Part Time Location: Academy Animal Hospital of Laurinburg Reporting To: Practice Manager Description We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Part-Time Veterinary Administrative Assistant to support our busy animal hospital with a variety of operational and client-facing tasks. This role is vital in maintaining the smooth flow of day-to-day activities and enhancing both team efficiency and client experience. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, is proactive, tech-savvy, and enjoys a mix of administrative work, communication, and light marketing responsibilities. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and update social media platforms with engaging, brand-consistent content
  • Complete and maintain weekly/monthly safety checklists
  • Support scheduling for team members and optimize doctor/tech appointments
  • Make and manage pointer/retriever calls and shop calls
  • Assist with client communication campaigns (email, text, print)
  • Maintain and complete trackers for team performance, metrics, and compliance
  • Support inventory management: ordering, tracking, and reporting shortages
  • Assist with accounts receivable (A/R) follow-up and documentation
  • Participate in marketing initiatives and help coordinate hospital/community events
  • Generate and support reporting for leadership meetings or initiatives
  • Assist with onboarding coordination for new hires (checklists, system access, paperwork)
  • Conduct reminder verifications and support client compliance
  • Identify opportunities for schedule optimization for doctors and team efficiency
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Prior experience in a veterinary, healthcare, or client-service environment is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and basic digital tools (Google Workspace, Canva, etc.)
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Professional, friendly, and team-oriented
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally (e.g., supplies, small equipment)
  • Sit, stand, or walk for extended periods as needed
  • May require occasional evenings/weekends for events or seasonal needs
