Part-Time Site Director, Eastern Reception & Diagnostic Correctional Center (MO) - Correctional Education
The Part-Time Site Director provides administrative support for the Ashland University Correctional Department for individuals who are incarcerated at these facilities.
Responsibilities
- Act as the liaison between the facility and Ashland University.
- Work with the Associate Director of Programs to ensure the identification, screening and recruiting of students aligns with the Department goals.
- Assist students with completion of admissions documents.
- Assist students with financial aid processes, including FAFSA.
- Assist students with course registrations each semester.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director of Programs on projects related to enrollment goals and class sizes each semester.
- Maintain site inventory of tablets, student textbooks and instructional supplies.
- Distribute equipment and materials to students and maintain a record of what has been provisioned.
- Maintain student privacy and record keeping according to the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Monitor attendance and faculty interaction with students.
- Conduct and document weekly meetings with individual students to review attendance, GPA, academic standards, academic progress, forms, etc.
- Assist students with accessing extracurricular activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred or a minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience.
- Experience working in correctional education preferred.
- Experience working in higher education strongly preferred.
- Ability to use Learning Management System Software.
- Computer skills with ability to troubleshoot as well as operate most office programs.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in advising and/or training others.
- Adherence to deadlines.
- Organization and management skills, with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Physical Demands:
- Work site is within the prison facilities and Site Director is required to work both at the facility and remotely when necessary.
- Some evening and weekend hours at the facility as necessary.
- Site Director will be required to lift and transport course materials, textbooks and tablets as needed.
- Local travel required with some occasional non-local travel involved.
