JOB DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS:
The Muscle Function and Locomotion Group within Penn State's Biomechanics Laboratory is seeking a dedicated part-time laboratory assistant to support ongoing research projects and routine laboratory maintenance.
The primary responsibilities include assisting with animal-based experimental protocols, animal monitoring, supporting experimental procedures (e.g., biomechanical movement assessments, metabolic measurements), and supply ordering. The role may also involve interaction with human-based research projects and, depending on experience, assistance with electronics and designing/manufacturing research equipment and software.
No prior animal or human research experience is required; however, the applicant must be comfortable working with animals. Institutional training (IACUC, EHS, etc.) will be required before participating in research protocols.
