JOB OBJECTIVE: To perform various duties required to maintain a clean and healthy environment for venomous and non-venomous reptiles and other assigned animals at the Little Rock Zoo. This is a safety/security sensitive position for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment is subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing.

Minimum Qualifications, Additional Requirements and Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThese knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of high school and six (6) months of experience in the care of reptiles in a controlled environment, (based on departmental need) OR two (2) or more years of related education (biology, zoology, wildlife biology, etc.) with an internship in a zoo or sanctuary setting. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT: Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
