Mail Services Clerk Job
The Mail Services Clerk is a 20 hour per week opening Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. that is part of our Camps Mail Services team. This opening is primarily responsible for:
- First point of contact for the mail room counter window.
- Perform various mail room duties such as using scale to determine postage, processing mail using postal meter, and creating shipping labels and other tasks as needed.
- Operate a vehicle as needed.
- Sort and case mail and packages for faculty, staff, and students as needed in support of Mail Clerk Driver or in their absence.
- Deliver mail, packages, and copies to offices on campus as needed in support of Mail Clerk Driver.
- Pick up outgoing post office mail & interdepartmental mail from offices to be processed as needed in support of Mail Clerk Driver or in their absence.
- Ensure high quality customer service is provided by student staff.
- Train staff on mailroom standard operating procedures to ensure a high level of accuracy handling mail & packages.
- Submit weekly reports to management.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Ability to lift and carry packages, which may weigh up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing or sitting) for extended periods, with or without accommodation.
- May require the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
Background Checks/Clearances:
Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
