POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Coordinator works out of the Business Office and is responsible to the Dean of Business. The position is part-time and does not offer benefits. Employee must possess a vibrant, personal Christian faith including a clear testimony of Christian conversion and be actively involved in an evangelical, preferably Southern Baptist, church.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain Employee Directory, job openings on the HLGU website and job applications.
- Monitor compliance with federal, state and, local laws (i.e. FLSA, FMLA, etc)
- Annual update to employees about on campus and community benefits.
- Consult with administrators on sensitive personnel issues (e.g. discipline, hiring, promotions, performance, behavior, attendance, etc.).
- Maintain library of job descriptions for each employee position.
- Administer tracking and recognition of employee time of service.
- Update Employee Handbook policies and procedures.
- Process reports including but not limited to: IPEDS and Work Comp Audit.
- Submit quarterly complaint reports for WIOA.
- Complete yearly WIOA audit (Work with VPAA and Student Accounts Manager).
- Administer and facilitate a variety of personnel policies, processes, performance appraisals and employment agreements (e.g. employment contracts and compensation).
- Facilitate onboarding and offboarding of all employees.
- Facilitate onboarding and offboarding of benefits.
- Work with vendors and research health insurance options as needed annually.
- Investigate, prepare and file Workers Compensation reports.
- Organize and implement New Employee Orientation.
- Organize and implement Employee Appreciation Events.
- Conduct annual workers compensation audit.
- Coordinate applications for the Tuition Exchange Program, CCCU, and TWEP.
- Facilitate and conduct CCCU survey.
- Distribute and process annual departmental Functional Area Assessments.
- Provide written/verbal verification of employment to all outside requests.
- Process Unemployment claims
- Manage and maintain the Graduate Assistant Program.
- Coordinate and process Graduate Assistant contracts and tuition concession.
- Ensure all new hire paperwork and tax forms are updated each year on January 1.
- Assist Dean of Business with the annual audit and prepare any request needed from the Human Resources Office.
- Attend quarterly TELO training
- Work diligently with departments who request information about HLGUs Strategic Plan.
- Work heavily and diligently with the Payroll Coordinator to ensure all benefits and payroll is accurate.

- Employee Title IX Coordinator.
- Clery/VAWA committee member.
- Biennial Review Committee Secretary
- Liaison for Tuition Exchange Programs.
- Coordinate with Public Safety to increase employee awareness through events.
- Type memos, documents, and email correspondence as needed.
- Assist other Business Office employees on time-sensitive projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
DEPARTMENTAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Work with Faculty and Staff on benefit questions and wellness concerns.
- Work with Public Relations to announce job vacancies and website updates.
- Work with all departments in regard to benefit questions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of higher education is preferred.
- Very attentive to detail.
- Working knowledge of computers and the ability to learn new programs.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Values consistent with the mission and purpose of Hannibal-LaGrange University.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING
- Bachelors degree is required, HR experience preferred.
- Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Outlook.
