Job Description :
Under the guidance of the Director of Finance, the PT Finance Student Account Services Assistant will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy and efficiency of all SCPS student accounts. This position is responsible for reviewing and performing audits on studentaccounts and finance reports. Assist in answering general email inquiries, problem solving and resolution of all issues pertaining to student billing, posting of payments, tuition remission, financial aid awards and student refunds. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the daily operations of the student accounts receivable functions ensuring compliance of the School's payment and refund policies.
  • Responsible for analysis of student account data and preparing and presenting reports to the Director, makes operational recommendations based on data analyses.
  • Handle complex and varied problems, which require analysis and interpretation of account details and discretion.
  • Assist the Director of Finance in the billing and collections of student account receivables.
  • Accurately and timely processing of tuition payments; reconcile to assure student accounts are credited accordingly. Communicate with students and resolve account issues.
  • Assists our Finance Team in servicing students email inquiries by identifying and correcting billing issues and irregularities, inaccurate posting of payments, financial aid awards and student refunds. Escalate serious issues to the Director using professional judgment.
  • Responsible for posting scholarship awards, tuition remission benefits, and third-party wire and or bank transfer payments to student accounts.
  • Work closely with the Director of Finance to provide monthly lists of unpaid balances and to ensure these are paid off in a timely fashion.
  • Refer delinquent accounts to collections and collect on delinquent accounts. Responsible for placing financial holds and applying fees accordingly (i.e., Late fees).
  • Responsible for running a monthly trial balance report, researching and correcting all variances.
  • Provide customized financial reports, cost templates, and trend analysis on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to the Finance Director and when necessary to the SCPS leadership team.
  • Maintain accurate student records in a professional manner and assist with retrieval and printing during annual Single Audit Report and/or as per request of the Director of Finance.
  • Support the Finance team and participate in special projects as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience:
  • Two to four years of experience working within a higher education student account office and/or student financial aid office environment.
  • Customer service experience is required. Experience working with students is highly preferred.
Skills:
  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office Suite required (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint); working knowledge of Ellucian Colleague and/or other student Information systems preferred.
  • A professional and resourceful approach; the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative, and to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously; must demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information; Ability to quickly identify and respond to wide-ranging topics, including taking steps to resolve problems effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize work. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form. Strong financial skills and knowledge of office computer applications are required.
  • Self-motivation and sound decision-making skills are required.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is $38,064 - 42,432. The position will be fully remote. Generous Benefits:
