School Of Education is seeking an individual to teach RED 613 Teaching Comprehension (3 credits)Course Description: Theory, research-based concepts, instruction, materials, assessment, and programs for teaching comprehension. Integrated into the course are an emphasis on instructional coaching and using technology to promote comprehension development. Qualifications Masters degree in Literacy or closely related field. Job Specific Qualifications Discipline-specific certification and extensive experience in the field highly preferred. College teaching preferred. K-12 reading/literacy teaching experience desirable. Responsibilities Developing and/or updating a class syllabus. Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date. Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments. Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours. Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
