The Dougherty County Sheriff's Office/Jail Division is hiring on a continuous basis for Part-time Deputy Sheriff.

Essential Tasks

Employee in this position is responsible for, but not limited to: The purpose of this position is to enforce local, state, and federal laws and to protect the citizens of Dougherty County.

For this law enforcement position, applicants, must be:

1. At least 21 years of age;

2. United States citizen;

3. High School graduate or equivalent;

4. Certified under the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Act; and

5. Able to clear background investigation.

Minimum Qualification

High School Diploma or GED with preferred formal training, special courses, or specialized advanced training in law enforcement, or a closely related field. Six (6) months of relative experience preferred; or any related equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Must have Peace Officer certification by Georgia P.O.S.T. (Peace Officers Standards and Training) Council and possess a valid Georgia Driver's License.
