Position DetailsReq ID:req19473Position Title:Part-Time: Customer Service Associate & Library Technical AssistantPosition Type:Temporary/SeasonalPosition Number:JV9975OSU Campus:TulsaDepartment:LibraryLocation Address:700 N Greenwood Ave.Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74106United States Hiring Supervisor:Hiring Range: (Contingent upon available funding):15.00 - 15.00, Hourly Work Schedule:15-20 hours per week, at least 2-3 shifts from 1-7 pm; rotating Fri 8am - 5pm & Sat 9am - 5pmFaculty Appt Period:Job Summary:Job Summary - Provides our library users with an excellent libraryexperience, technology check-out, material check-out and in-house computerassistance in person, online and on the phone- Performs technical and physical library work in support of the library'sfunctions including shelving, pulling materials, using automated library andnetwork systems- Assists the library team in project and routine task work - Provides public relations, informs users onlibrary policy and services, and completes light housekeepingWork Schedule- Up to 20 hours a week- Availability Monday 1-7 PM and Wednesday 1-7 PM- Rotating Friday 12 - 5 PMand Saturday shifts 9 AM - 5 PM- Night shifts may vary semester to semester or as library needs shift and could include at least two nights per weekEnvironment Expectations- Typical Office EnvironmentPhysical Requirements - Ability to lift and carry 20-30 pounds, push book trucks, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp,feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or withoutreasonable accommodationsSpecial Instructions to Applicants*If you are viewing this job posting outside of the actual OSU job application website, please go to to apply and submit a resume* We strongly recommend attaching a cover letter as well.Education & ExperiencePosition Qualifications:Required- Some College- 1-3 years customer service experience or relevant libraryexperience Preferred- Associates or Bachelors Degree- Library Experience and/or Knowledge or familiarity in circulation andthe academic user experienceSkills, Proficiency, and Knowledge- Working knowledge of customer servicephilosophies and principles- Knowledgeof academic libraries; printers, computers and a variety of software adaptingto changing technology- Ability tointerpret user informational inquiries, ability to communicate clearly and appropriatelyboth written and verbal, effective problem solving, and analytical skills- Evidence and skill in organizing andestablishing priorities- Copyright guidelines, interlibrary loan, and Integrated Library Systemsincluding ALMA/ILLiad and databasesOklahoma State University, as an equal opportunity employer, complies with all applicable federal and state laws regarding non-discrimination and affirmative action.
