The Dougherty County Sheriff's Office/Jail Division is hiring on a continuous basis for Part-time Court Security Officer.

Essential Tasks

Employee in this position is responsible for, but not limited to: observing conduct and behavior of individuals in civil and criminal cases while in a courtroom setting to prevent disturbances and the escape of inmates; assisting jurors during terms of court, searching the courtrooms for weapons and other contraband, and acting directly upon the instructions from the judge in potentially threatening situations

Minimum Qualification

High school diploma or GED and one (1) year in security, customer services, general clerical or related experience; or any related equivalent combination of education, training and experience which will provide the knowledge, skill and ability to perform the duties of this position. Must be able to perform the physical duties of the position. Must be available for on call duty. Additionally, must be able to deal with the public courteously and effectively, communicate in writing, present a professional appearance, be prompt and have reliable attendance. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License
