Part-Time Cashier and Stock Associate - ALDI : Job Details

Join our dynamic team as a Part-Time Cashier and Stock Associate, where you'll enhance the shopping experience for our customers in a friendly and collaborative environment. This role offers variety and the opportunity to engage with customers daily while keeping our stores in top shape.

Position Type: Part-Time

Average Hours: Fewer than 30 hours per week

Starting Wage: $17.50 per hour

Wage Increases: Year 2 - $18.00 | Year 3 - $18.50 | Year 4 - $18.50 | Year 5 - $19.50

Duties and Responsibilities: Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Work collaboratively with team members and communicate important information to the team lead.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of documents and data.
• Complete other assigned tasks as needed.

Cashier Responsibilities:

• Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
• Assist customers in enhancing their shopping experience with excellent service.
• Provide management with feedback on products, inventory issues, and customer inquiries.
• Participate in store inventory counts and ensure inventory accuracy.
• Follow cash handling procedures to prevent losses.

Stock Associate Responsibilities:

• Stock shelves and rotate products to ensure freshness.
• Use merchandising planograms to create appealing displays.
• Organize and prepare new inventory while disposing of empty boxes.
• Operate machinery safely and adhere to all safety protocols.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and move around the store regularly.
• Stock Associates should be able to lift merchandise up to 45 pounds and place items on shelves at various heights.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Deliver prompt and courteous customer service.
• Perform general cleaning duties to maintain store standards.
• Understand and apply company policies effectively.
• Exhibit excellent verbal communication skills.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of company products and services is preferred.
• For Cashiers: Proficient in operating a cash register and complying with local laws regarding the sale of alcohol.
• For Stock Associates: Ability to safely operate equipment such as electric/manual hand jacks and floor scrubbers, and to work morning shifts starting as early as 5:00 a.m.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail experience is a plus.
• Combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge will be considered.
