Part-Time Cashier and Stock Associate - ALDI : Job Details

Position Type: Part-Time

Average Hours: Fewer than 30 hours per week

Starting Wage: $19.00 per hour

Wage Increases: Year 2 - $19.50 | Year 3 - $20.00 | Year 4 - $20.00 | Year 5 - $21.00

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with team members and effectively communicate with your direct leader.
• Maintain the security and confidentiality of documents and data.
• Other duties as assigned.

Cashier Duties:

• Process customer purchases and maintain a clean working area.
• Offer exceptional customer service and assist customers during their shopping journey.
• Provide feedback on products, inventory losses, and general issues to management.
• Participate in store inventory counts and monitor inventory accuracy.
• Adhere to cash policies to minimize losses.

Stock Associate Duties:

• Efficiently stock shelves and rotate products to ensure freshness.
• Follow merchandising guidelines to create appealing product displays.
• Organize inventory and manage packaging materials.
• Operate machinery safely and adhere to all safety protocols.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, pull, and lift throughout your shift.
• Stock positions require lifting items weighing up to 45 pounds to various shelving heights.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
• Perform general cleaning duties to maintain company standards.
• Interpret and apply company policies effectively.
• Excellent verbal communication skills are essential.
• Work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Possess effective time management skills.
• Knowledge of ALDI products and services is a plus.

Cashier Specific Skills:

• Efficient and accurate cash register operation.
• Comply with state and local regulations regarding alcoholic beverage sales.

Stock Associate Specific Skills:

• Safely operate equipment like electric/manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Morning availability is required to accommodate early store operations, with shifts starting as early as 5:00 a.m.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail experience is preferred.
• A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge is acceptable.
