This is a skilled position responsible for resource management in the Tallahassee Forestry Center. The Park Ranger operates light and heavy equipment, works under the supervision of the Forestry Supervisor II and sometimes alone or in small groups, is responsible for state forest road and bridge maintenance; installation, maintenance and improvement of state forest recreation features such as campground sites, stream fords and crossings; establishment and maintenance of primitive recreation site, removal and disposal of dangerous or unwanted trees in recreation areas; maintenance (to include closure) of graded firelines for fire control purposes and recreation access to the state forest; establishment, maintenance and removal of debris at bridges and other sites for recreation use.
