- Manage cases from inception to resolution, including monitoring deadlines and proactively initiating workflows
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, and appellate filings
- Oversee document review for privilege, responsiveness, redaction, and production, including Bates labeling
- Conduct cite checking, shepardizing, and proofreading to ensure compliance with Bluebook and Oregon Style Manual
- Manage discovery process: draft subpoenas, prepare for depositions, handle written discovery, and summarize productions
- Assist with law and motion practice, including drafting, assembling, and filing motions and exhibits
- Support pretrial and trial preparation, including creating trial notebooks, managing exhibits, preparing witness lists, and drafting jury instructions
- Attend hearings, trials, and depositions; operate trial presentation software and handle demonstrative exhibits
- Oversee docketing and calendaring to ensure compliance with all procedural deadlines
- Serve as liaison with courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and internal litigation support teams
- Prepare post-trial filings, assist with cost memoranda, monitor judgments, and handle appellate processes
- Supervise junior paralegals or support staff as needed
Job DetailsRequirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 6–10 years of experience as a litigation paralegal
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred
- Expertise in case management, legal research, drafting, and trial preparation
- In-depth knowledge of Oregon and federal court rules; familiarity with California procedures is a plus
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficiency with e-Discovery platforms (e.g., Relativity One, iPro), litigation software (Text Map, Case Notebook, TrialPad), and using firm management software, such as iManage and Zoom
- Ability to handle multiple urgent tasks and prioritize in a high-pressure environment
