Summary/Objective Will instruct high school students in the Level D Program, Self Contained located at Kingman Middle School. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:
Respond to all internal and external customers, as it relates to the job, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner Instruct students to reinforce materials or skills initially introduced by the teacher Assist with assessments, grading papers and completing records Distribute and collect workbooks, papers and other materials for instruction Copy, collate and file worksheets and requested documents Develop and create bulletin boards, signs, borders and classroom displays Operate and care for equipment used for instructional purposes Assist with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, lunch/breakfast periods, field trips, crossing guard, bus assistant, after school activities, school gate duty Alert the teacher to any problem or special information about a student Maintain the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all policies, regulations, and rules Perform related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner Attend required trainings Record and monitor student behaviors. Implement behavior intervention plans with guidance from the teacher and the BCBA. Work Environment This job operates in a school environment. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regularly required to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, and exchange information with faculty, students, and visitors. Ability to position self as needed in line with safety guidelines to complete tasks. Ability to move, transport, position, put, install, and remove items up to 50 pounds as needed. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work At-Will Notice of Employment does not provide a guarantee of a particular schedule of work or a minimum number of days or hours. This is a 10-month, 40-hour per week position, paid on an hourly basis and eligible for overtime. This position is eligible for health insurance benefits. Employee will typically work ten hours per day Monday through Thursday during core business hours. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent AA degree, 60 college credits from an accredited university, or satisfactory results on an Arizona state-approved competency exam (ParaPro) Preferred Education and Experience Working with students or children. Required Certifications/Licenses May require First Aid/CPR certification and/or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training Work Authorization/Security Clearance Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
