MUST BE PERMANENT IN THE CIVIL SERVICE CLERICAL ASSOCIATE TITLE OR, IF HIRED PROVISIONALLY AS A CLERICAL ASSOCIATE, YOU MUST TAKE AND PASS THE CLERICAL ASSOCIATE CIVIL SERVICE EXAM WHEN IT BECOMES AVAILABLE FOR CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT.

The Investigation, Revenue, and Enforcement Administration (IREA) supports the integrity of social services programs administered by the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA). Within IREA, the Centralized Data Entry (CDE) Unit processes all case transactions using the Paperless Alternate Module (PAM) from Cash Assistance (CA), Non-Cash Assistance (NCA), and SNAP Center staff, including ancillary sites. CDE is authorized to process case actions, including error corrections, directly into WMS from PAM.

We are recruiting for one Clerical Associate III to serve as a PAM Data Entry Clerk, responsible for:

  • Reviewing and verifying the completeness of Turn Around Documents (TAD) to ensure data accuracy; making corrections as needed; maintaining control over submitted items; and ensuring timely data entry.
  • Correcting errors such as omissions or transpositions where no case review is needed, and ensuring necessary corrective actions are taken.
  • Verifying that all forms authorizing benefit payments are correctly completed, signed, and approved before and after data entry.
  • Resolving daily errors identified on the WINRO report to prevent duplicate assistance, lapses, or incorrect payments.
  • Maintaining a daily log of cases with initiated actions for supervisor review.
  • Scanning TADs for the Office of Central Processing, Job Centers, and SNAP-CR.
  • Returning documents to supervisors for indexing and input into PAM.
  • Completing Fair Hearing Evidence Management System (FHEMS) cases using PAM, WMS, and physical documents to update records and track case status.

    Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm

    Minimum Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent approved by a recognized educational authority.
    • One year of satisfactory clerical experience.
    Skills Requirements
    • Typing at a minimum of 100 keystrokes per minute.
    Preferred Skills
    • Ability to review and assess case actions and implement corrections promptly.
    • Knowledge of HRA/IREA systems including WMS, HRA Viewer, POS, and scanning/indexing systems.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
