The Painter is responsible for the operation of the Paint Department.
Duties and responsibilities
- Receive articles, parts, covers, and cases from all departments for refinishing.
- Properly handle and store these items until they are returned to the appropriate department after work is completed.
- Refinish units to the equipment manufacturers' standards using standard industry practices.
- Ensure that the article, part, cover, or case is returned to the appropriate department in a timely manner so that the Final Shop Inspection may be performed prior to the unit being prepared for shipping.
- Notify the appropriate Department Supervisor if, during the painting process, an item is damaged, or defects are found so that they may take corrective action.
- Arrange and maintain their workspace in a clean and organized manner to prevent damage or contamination of work in progress.
- Ensure the painting, refinishing equipment, and tools are maintained in good working order.
- Maintain inventory levels of paint and related consumables.
- Satisfactorily complete any training required by regulation.
Additional Responsibilities
Safety Coordinator
- Participate in safety committee meetings.
- Periodically check the fire and safety equipment to ensure serviceability and adequacy.
- Ensure PPE is made available throughout the shop floor.
- Assist the safety committee with identifying workplace hazards to reduce accidents and exposure to harmful situations and substances and remediate those hazards.
- Oversee proper storage and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste.
Logistics Support
- Assist processing of incoming units and piece parts during peak hours.
- Process scrap units in accordance with operations scrap procedures.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- Technical college or Military training a plus.
- Have basic computer knowledge for data entry tasks.
- Able to follow manufacturer's instructions with required materials and surface preparation.
- Knowledge of different types of paints and primers used.
- Understanding the required mixing ratios of materials being used.
- Proper handling and disposal of materials.

- Background check is required.
- This position is considered a safety sensitive position based on FAA regulations. This position will require a pre-employment and random drug screenings in accordance with FAA regulations.
- This is a full time, non-exempt position.
- Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour DOE

- This position is located in Depew, NY. Relocation assistance is not available.
