We're looking for a Paint Prep Technician to join our team of dedicated professionals. In this role, you'll play a key part in preparing vehicles for the refinishing and reassembly process, ensuring every car meets the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities:
- Carefully review repair orders before beginning each vehicle
- Perform all necessary paint preparation steps
- Prime, edge, and jam replacement parts as needed
- Sand and prep new and blend parts for paint
- Featheredge surfaces and block panels for refinishing
- Mask and spray the correct number of primer coats
- Mask panels and cover vehicles to minimize tape lines and overspray
- Use proper refinishing techniques and equipment in line with OSHA safety standards
- Adhere to all hazardous waste disposal procedures
- Keep your workspace clean and organized
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance team environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods
- Repetitive task performance
- Vision abilities (close, distance, depth perception)
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs periodically
- Ability to reach above/below shoulder level
- Frequent kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping
- Good eye-hand coordination
- Exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust, and noise
- Must be able to wear required protective gear, including a respirator
