Precipart, located in Farmingdale, NY, is looking for a Packing and Kitting Assistant to join our Logistics team. The Packing and Kitting Assistant prepares custom-manufactured components for shipping and/or assembly, following work instructions and established schedules to meet production and delivery timelines. Responsibilities include accurately packing parts for shipment and assembling kits of components in accordance with our quality standards and customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Shipping:

  • Pack custom-manufactured components using appropriate materials and methods to ensure safe transport and delivery.

  • Label packages accurately with part numbers, quantities, and destination details.

  • Inspect final packages to ensure they meet quality standards and customer requirements.

  • Coordinate with the shipping department for timely dispatch.

  • Complete required shipping documentation and logs.

Staging

  • Prepare kits of components based on work orders, bill of materials (BOM), and production schedules.

  • Verify kit contents for accuracy and completeness before assembly.

  • Resolve issues related to kit contents or assembly processes.

General (Shipping & Staging)

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for packing and kitting supplies.

  • Conduct regular inventory counts and report discrepancies.

  • Replenish materials as needed and coordinate with procurement for timely reordering.

  • Ensure proper storage of components and materials to maintain quality and prevent damage.

  • Perform quality inspections throughout processes and report any defects or issues.

  • Collaborate with the Quality team to resolve quality-related problems.

  • Complete all required documentation accurately and on timResponsible for conforming with the company's quality management system requirements, as well as contributing to its overall effectiveness, and the ultimate goals of customer satisfaction, product compliance and ethical practices/behavior.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Prior experience in packing and/or kitting, ideally within a manufacturing setting

  • Ability to understand and follow detailed work instructions.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Good problem solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills

  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, verbally and written, effectively with team members and cross-functionally

  • Proficient in using MS Office Suite

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION

  • Proficiency with inventory management software and tools.

  • Familiarity with precision components and custom manufacturing processes is highly desirable.

  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, BOMs, and technical drawings.

PAY RANGE:$18.00 to $20.00 an hour
