Summary
The Packaging Manager oversees all aspects of cannabis product packaging, ensuring compliance with regulations, quality standards and operational efficiency. This role manages the Packaging Team, optimizes workflows and ultimately provides inventory for sale. The Packaging Manager collaborates with key departments to meet production goals, ensuring all packaged products compliantly meet safety, potency and quality requirements. This role reports to the Senior Production Manager.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Scheduling
· Leads, manages and develops the Packaging Team to enable high performance.
· Creates and maintains production schedules to ensure packaging output meets monthly and quarterly production for sale targets.
· Develops and implement training systems to improve team efficiency and processes.
· Oversees and communicates production priorities to the Packaging Team to consistently deliver against KPIs well
Operations & Inventory Management
· Assess and manages packaging inventory, ensuring materials are stocked and available to meet ongoing production needs.
· Works closely with key departments to ensure smooth workflows.
· Maintains all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), logs and associated forms/documents to ensure compliance and consistency.
Compliance & Quality Control
· Maintains routine programs and processes to ensure high-quality products that comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
· Ensures that all packaging operations adhere to state regulations and company quality control standards.
· Generates reports and forms; gathering necessary data from relevant departments as needed.
Production & Equipment Maintenance
· Oversees packaging line machinery, ensuring proper operation and troubleshooting minor issues.
· Identifies potential machinery issues and submits work orders for repairs, as needed.
· Determines the correct batch of product for packaging and organizes the team to complete necessary tasks efficiently.
Documentation & Data Management
· Maintains accurate records of inventory, weights and production data using company tracking software.
· Logs appropriate batch data in both physical logs and digital logs/software as required, to ensure compliance and traceability.
· Prints product batch labels, regulation labels, and all batch-specific paperwork to ensure all packaging meets regulatory and branding requirements.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
· Must be 21 years of age or older
· High school diploma or equivalent - Required. Bachelor's degree – Preferred
· Minimum 3 years of packaging, production or manufacturing experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity – Preferred
· Experience in cannabis, pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing industries – Preferred

Schedule
· Exempt: Available to work the daily schedule with flexibility, as required, to meet business needs.

Manufacturing environment that requires extended time standing, walking, bending and reaching. Ability to carry up to 50lbs for up to a distance of 100ft may be required.
