With a strong market presence and a focus on operational excellence, we offer a dynamic and growth-oriented work environment.The Opportunity:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Packaging Manager to lead all packaging operations at our manufacturing facility.Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role is critical in ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality packaging of our products across a multi-shift operation. The Packaging Manager will lead a team of packaging professionals and engineers, driving continuous improvement and maintaining our standards for product quality and safety.What You'll Do:
Plan, coordinate, manage, and control all daily packaging operations, including packaging equipment, maintenance, and cleaning.Provide direction to shift supervisors, leads, and engineering support to ensure quality products and adherence to productivity goals and key performance indicators.Develop salaried direct reports, including hiring, training, and performance management, to foster a positive employee relations and safety-conscious environment.Improve overall line performance through supervision, operator training, and development. Evaluate line performance to identify process improvements, troubleshoot issues, and solve problems to prevent downtime and increase production.Cooperate in a cross-functional manner with other company departments to achieve operational goals.Complete all projects to support operations objectives and initiatives.Foster an environment that contributes to the development of new packaging technology, equipment, and products through collaboration with vendors, engineering, R&D, and technical services.Ensure adherence to good manufacturing practices while promoting a safe working environment and enforcing sanitary production techniques. Maintain a strong understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and sustainable development goals.Take immediate corrective actions when dealing with Food Safety and Food Quality issues and report these issues to the immediate supervisor and/or Quality Manager as required.What You'll Bring:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or Management.5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, with a minimum of 3 years in a significant production/packaging management role within the food and beverage industry.Proven experience in managing labor, capital equipment, and production supplies.Strong understanding of food and beverage industry regulatory requirements.Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of building and motivating teams.Excellent management, planning, organizational, and follow-up skills.Strong analytical and applied problem-solving skills.Familiarity with food plant operations, procedures, and equipment.Excellent computer skills.Exceptional personal organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to effectively train, coach, and motivate others.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Bonus Points For:Direct production experience in a food manufacturing environment.Knowledge of plastics, filling line equipment, and case/pallet optimization programs.Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.Membership in relevant professional organizations.Personal Attributes We Value:Strong work ethic, accountability, maturity, and a management perspective.Enthusiasm for the role and the industry.A commitment to setting and enforcing high standards.A strong sense of integrity and understanding of accountability.A collaborative team player.Approachability, respectfulness, and open communication.A focus on the needs of the team and the organization.Detail-oriented, precise, and clear communication skills.Comfort and confidence in presenting to small groups.Excellent personal organizational skills and habits.A patient yet proactive approach.#J-18808-Ljbffr
