Job Description :

We are currently seeking a Packaging Engineer with strong conceptual and engineering skills to create unique, scalable concepts that drive the future of our packaging, unboxing, and sustainability experience. This is a unique opportunity to work with an inventive, user-centered team that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronic device packaging for Ring worldwide.

As a Packaging Engineer, you will be an integral part of executing build strategies, including: DFM innovation, new product development, execution efficiency, mitigating risk, and best practice, as well as a key escalation path for packaging process issues. You'll connect the US and Asia teams to ensure effective cross-functional collaboration with Product Development, Global Commodity Management, Strategic Procurement, Program Management, Operations, Logistics, and Supply Chain. Your focus will be on developing packaging part manufacturing and processes aligned with Marketing and ID goalsbridging strategic business objectives with design priorities.

Requirements

  • Experience using ArtiosCAD, TOPS, and PLM System. Experience designing and testing packaging. Familiarity with ISTA 3A/6-Amazon.
  • Degree in Packaging Engineering or a similar engineering field.
  • Completion of 4-5 packaging bundles, including design, development, testing, validation, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain close communication with Asia and US Engineering teams to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Identify and develop packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and finishes.
  • Design, prototype, and deliver scalable processes for complex programs.
  • Drive yield and cycle time improvements ahead of mass production.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, providing design feedback and recommendations including features, tolerances, DFM, and fixture development.
  • Participate in early design engagement and user testing to optimize solutions.
  • Lead engineering studies and provide risk evaluations to the design team.
  • Attend packaging builds and report findings to engineering and core teams.
  • Support supplier quality and issue resolution throughout development.
  • Assist Operations during ramp-up and ongoing mass production.

Note: This role requires 7+ years of experience as a Packaging Engineer, with proficiency in ArtiosCAD, TOPS, and PLM systems, and experience in designing and testing packaging, including familiarity with ISTA 3A/6 Amazon standards. Successful candidates will have completed 4-5 packaging projects involving design, development, testing, validation, and documentation.
