The goal is to create cost-effective, sustainable, and efficient packaging systems that improve supply chain performance and reduce waste.What you get to do:Design packaging solutions for automotive components and finished goods, ensuring they meet logistics, storage, safety, and durability standards.Work with manufacturing, quality, and design teams to identify parts suitable for returnable packaging.Manage packaging budgets and cost-saving initiatives.Develop sustainable packaging solutions using CAD tools like SolidWorks and AutoCAD.Collaborate with suppliers to create durable, cost-effective expendable packaging.Conduct business case studies comparing returnable vs. expendable packaging.Define packaging requirements for new product launches and analyze logistics data to improve supply chain flow.Optimize packaging internal space utilization and material handling efficiency.Lead continuous improvement projects focused on lean packaging and ergonomics.Collaborate with various factory teams to design, develop, and implement containers and carts for internal factory kitting and sequencingResearch new materials and technologies to improve packaging durability, reduce weight, and lower costs.Ensure all packaging solutions meet required specifications and standards before implementation.Conduct packaging performance testing as needed.What you bring to the team:Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.5+ years of packaging experience in automotive, aerospace, or similar industries.Experience in optimizing returnable and expendable packaging with suppliers.Proficient in CAD tools for packaging design and optimization.Knowledge of packaging design, materials, and logistics optimization.Familiarity with ISO, safety, and environmental regulations.Strong leadership and collaboration skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Understanding of sustainable packaging practices.Why Join Team Slate?
