Job Title: Housing Monitor/Security Guard

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

Monitor the behavior and activities of clients participating in the Salvation Army housing program.

Guard the security and safety of Salvation Army facilities and buildings.

Ensure compliance with housing rules and policies.

Protect the safety of staff and clients.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of security practices and procedures.
• Ability to influence and control human behavior and enforce security rules and guidelines.
• Ability to respond to emergencies calmly and effectively.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required.
• Six months of experience working with the public, security, or social services preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Capability to lift, carry, or push/pull light materials (less than 25 lbs.).
• Work involves standing, walking, and sitting, performed in a typical social service housing environment with minimal physical discomforts.
