Job Opening: Housing Monitor/Security Guard

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Housing Monitor/Security Guard at our Murfreesboro, TN location.

As a housing monitor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents. We seek a patient, observant, and dependable individual committed to our mission. Job Summary

Monitor the behavior and activities of clients participating in a Salvation Army housing program; guard the security and safety of Salvation Army facilities and buildings to ensure compliance with housing rules and policies, and to protect staff and clients.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of security practices and procedures.
• Ability to influence and control human behavior and enforce security rules and guidelines.
• Ability to respond to emergencies calmly and effectively.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required. Six months experience working with the public, security, or social service environment is preferred, or any equivalent training and experience providing the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Must be able to lift, carry, or push/pull light materials (less than 25 lbs). Duties involve standing, walking, and sitting. Work is performed in a typical social service housing environment with minimal physical discomforts related to weather, noise, dust, or dirt.
