Description and Requirements

General Description: We're seeking an insurance professional with strong Property & Casualty expertise and a solid understanding of data. This role is ideal for someone from the business side of insurance who is tech-savvy and eager to transition into a data-focused career. As part of the Data Science team, you'll collaborate with various groups and business users to drive insights and innovation in insurance.

Responsibilities

• Liaison between business users and IT team.
• Research problems, plan solutions, recommend software and system changes, and coordinate development to meet business requirements.
• Define project scope with business leaders.
• Develop business cases and enhance financial models.
• Translate user requests into business and technical requirements.
• Produce business requirements documents.
• Develop and test Python programs to implement business requirements.
• Collaborate with business leaders on project and application implementations.
• Manage system conversion activities such as data mapping, configuration, and analysis.
• Ensure project and system delivery meet end-user expectations.
• Document current ('as is') and future ('to be') workflows with leaders.
• Create project schedules and allocate resources.
• Execute projects according to plan.
• Manage task accountability within project teams.
• Maintain project plans, issue logs, and tasks.
• Coordinate with vendors for compliance.

Cyber Security Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate security systems per USI policies and standards.
• Stay updated on security measures to protect assets.
• Define access controls and safeguard systems against unauthorized access.
• Assess current security, evaluate trends, and anticipate needs.
• Upgrade systems with security controls.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• 3-5 years of P&C or EB insurance experience; Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience with Python preferred.
• Team-oriented with a hands-on approach.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic environment.
