Description and Requirements
General Description: We're seeking an insurance professional with strong Property & Casualty expertise and a solid understanding of data. This role is ideal for someone from the business side of insurance who is tech-savvy and eager to transition into a data-focused career. As part of the Data Science team, you'll collaborate with various groups and business users to drive insights and innovation in insurance.
Responsibilities
- Liaison between business users and IT team.
- Research problems, plan solutions, recommend software and system changes, and coordinate development to meet business requirements.
- Define project scope with business leaders.
- Develop business cases and enhance financial models.
- Translate user requests into business and technical requirements.
- Produce business requirements documents.
- Develop and test Python programs to implement business requirements.
- Collaborate with business leaders on project and application implementations.
- Manage system conversion activities such as data mapping, configuration, and analysis.
- Ensure project and system delivery meet end-user expectations.
- Document current ('as is') and future ('to be') workflows with leaders.
- Create project schedules and allocate resources.
- Execute projects according to plan.
- Manage task accountability within project teams.
- Maintain project plans, issue logs, and tasks.
- Coordinate with vendors for compliance.
Cyber Security Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate security systems per USI policies and standards.
- Stay updated on security measures to protect assets.
- Define access controls and safeguard systems against unauthorized access.
- Assess current security, evaluate trends, and anticipate needs.
- Upgrade systems with security controls.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 3-5 years of P&C or EB insurance experience; Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- At least 1 year experience with Python preferred.
- Team-oriented with a hands-on approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic environment.
