Job SummaryThe Crane Operator/Loader is responsible for handling materials as related to the shipping and receiving of inventory and customer orders. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.Job Responsibilities* Crane and Forklift Operation: Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts* Product Knowledge: Understand the products handled, including color coding and customer specifications; read and interpret all measuring devices* Shipping and Receiving: Unload and receive inbound stock shipments and load outbound shipments, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed* Loading Procedures: Safely load trucks, including proper chaining and tarping of trailers* Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operationsQualifications* Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience operating overhead cranes in an industrial or distribution environment* Certification: Valid certification to operate overhead cranes is required* Education: High School diploma or GED; or 1-3 months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience* Regulations Knowledge: Understanding of DOT regulations regarding load weight* Safety and Procedures: Ability to follow safety protocols and operational procedures* Dependability: Reliable with a strong work ethic* Learning and Training: Willingness to learn new skills and train others* Physical Examination: Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility* Reliability: Demonstrated reliable work history* Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
