Outside Sales Representative-Food industrySuffern, NY$100,000 - $125,000Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and grow existing customer business: This includes building and maintaining relationships with customers and clients, identifying prospective customers, following up on potential sales leads, and maintaining relationships with existing customers.
  • Being able to properly communicate marketing and sales strategies: to increase sales with your customer base.
  • Bring in new business: This includes identifying and establishing contact with potential customers, scheduling and presenting our various products to potential customers, presenting differentiating benefits of those products, attending industry trade shows to identify potential sales leads, and following industry trends to identify new opportunities for potential sales.
  • Analyze sales reports: This includes analyzing customer product and sales data provided by management, as well as other operational reports to ensure sales rep is acquiring knowledge and status of your customers. Sales Management will provide feedback, where appropriate, on these reports.
  • Excellent communication skills: This includes communicating externally with our customers to properly understand their product needs, as well as communicating internally with colleagues to identify and suggest problems, improvements, issues, etc.
  • Highly organized: This includes managing time effectively, prioritizing tasks, and keeping accurate written records of all sales leads and/or customer accounts.
  • Provide Communication Reports to Management - weekly call reports, monthly highlight reports and quarterly sales meetings to review Sales results, competition, promotions and any operational issues.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 Years of maintaining and growing customer sales in the food industry. Calling on the major Kosher Super Markets is a plus.
  • The ideal candidate for this position should be detail-oriented and have had experience calling on customers in a territory.
  • Be able to work the hours required, which will include additional time before each Holiday season, as well as reliable and consistent coming to work.
  • Have a positive attitude and good communication skills.
  • Orthodox, must speak fluent Yiddish and English.
  • Be able to work independently, once the required level of knowledge on the products and customers are absorbed.
  • Be organized, and be able to track and manage many moving parts.
  • They should also be able to work closely with the existing warehouse manager and office administration.
  • Have a driving force to want to help people and implement growth.
