Job Title: Outside Sales EngineerCompensation: The role offers a guaranteed base between $60K-$80K in the first year, with on-target earnings (OTE) ranging from $150K-$200K. After the first year, the role transitions to a 100% commission structure with uncapped earning potential.Location: Albany, New YorkAbout the Job: Lakeside HR Group is partnering with a well-established and respected commercial HVAC solutions provider to hire an Outside Sales Engineer for their Upstate New York. With decades of industry experience, this company has built a strong reputation for technical expertise, exceptional customer service, and long-standing client relationships. They represent over 30 top-tier HVAC manufacturers and operate across multiple locations in Upstate New York. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for driving sales of commercial HVAC equipment to mechanical contractors, sheet metal contractors, consulting engineers, and facility owners. This role involves consultative selling, technical product support, bid management, and close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Sell commercial HVAC equipment for new construction and retrofit projects. Promote and support the company's product lines to contractors, engineers, and owners. Provide technical consultation, design support, and application recommendations. Review and manage bid documents and proposals. Collaborate with inside sales teams on pricing, takeoffs, and submittals. Coordinate with manufacturers to ensure accurate specs, pricing, and delivery schedules. Visit customer offices and job sites to maintain and strengthen relationships. Build and maintain a pipeline of 50-100+ active projects at varying stages. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, or equivalent HVAC experience. 3+ years of experience in HVAC sales, system design, or technical consulting. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of commercial HVAC systems. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle rejection, build rapport, and maintain strong client relationships. Highly organized and self-motivated; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and manufacturer selection software. Interest and potential to grow into a leadership role.
