Position Details Position Information Position Title Outreach Specialist Position Number 100295 FTE 1.0 FLSA Non-Exempt Pay Rate $53,680 annually, plus benefits. Position Type Full-Time Posting Detail Posting Number 306 Essential Function Provide financial education programs and services as a representative of Oklahoma Money Matters (OKMM), the financial literacy initiative administered by the Oklahoma College Assistance Program (OCAP). Responsibilities and Duties • Support efforts to develop partnerships and collaborative projects with educational institutions, community groups, service organizations, and various other constituencies. • Develop and teach personal finance and borrower education workshops in high schools, on campuses and in communities. • Seek opportunities to develop and support financial education and student success efforts in high schools and on higher education campuses. • Assist high school, campus and community financial education partners through meetings, workshops, training sessions, telephone contacts, and professional conference presentations. • Promote OCAP programs, products and services to schools, industry partners, and community groups, and represent OCAP at various professional meetings and events. • Help develop and review materials, services and other resources to support OKMM and OCAP's other educational outreach initiatives. • Plan internal and external meetings, conferences, exhibits, campus events, and community activities. • Prepare content for OKMM's website, educational updates, and social media platforms. • Help plan and provide content for OCAP's monthly newsletters, Financial Friday and OKMM Outlook. • Participate in agency workgroups and help with special projects, as needed. • Other similar duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and at least two (2) years' experience with community service and educational outreach programs or an equivalent combination of job-related experience and postsecondary education required. Candidate must demonstrate strong interest in financial literacy and college and career planning education. Leadership, team-building and project management skills required. Excellent writing and public speaking skills, exceptional attention to detail, and innovative and energetic attitude are a must. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required. In-state travel to events and activities and some extended evening and weekend work hours required. Preferred Qualifications Bi-lingual preferred. Experience working with low-income populations. Working knowledge of social media platforms, Adobe product suite and Web content development preferred. Supervision The employee performs work under the supervision of the OCAP Assistant Director for Outreach Services. Work Hours Agency offices are open to the public from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. Monday through Friday. These are the normal office hours for Agency employees. Physical Demands Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Exhibit manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate a computer, keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment. Ability to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids. Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels, with or without aids. Ability to communicate clearly. Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds, to bend, stoop, climb stairs, walk and reach. Must use the proper manual handling equipment including but not limited to dollies, carts and lift team members. Duties are normally performed in an office environment with a moderate noise level.
