Job Description Works to establish and maintain working relationships in the region that support central intake's communication and outreach plan. Implement activities to recruit, engage and retain program participants, either directly or through referral sources. Travels throughout the region to perform assigned duties, in coordination with the Central Intake and Referral Coordinator. Assists with local, multi-county and Statewide events to increase public awareness and conduct child find. Tracks all outreach activities for monthly reporting requirements. Interact professionally with families, referral sources, and community stakeholders using strong interpersonal skills. Responsibilities
Establishes and maintains relationships with home visiting and early intervention contractors in Northwest Ohio to identify referral sources and program options available in each county and assess outreach needs. Establishes and maintains relationships with primary referral sources in Northwest Ohio to educate them about program options and changes and generate timely and appropriate referrals for home visiting and early intervention services. Support and attend outreach events carried out by local and multi-county partners to generate home visiting and early intervention referrals. Ensures the availability of marketing materials for outreach events and mailings through assembly and/or ordering of materials. Helps maintain home visiting waiting list by contacting assigned families to see if they are still interested in services and following up. Maintains regular communication with supervisor about daily schedule and activities while off-site and participates in all scheduled supervision and team meetings on-site. Track daily outreach activities for internal monitoring and monthly reporting to Bright Beginnings and other stakeholders. Identify any potential problem areas and report to Central Intake & Referral Coordinator. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Beginning skill level in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. word processing, electronic spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software), Google applications (email, calendar, and drive), and internet usage. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use appropriate judgment in handling information. Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments. Ability to maintain records and follow procedures. Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with parents/caregivers, referral sources, and service providers in a personable and professional manner. Ability to work independently with general direction. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred but not required. Demonstrated ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. The ability to set up and breakdown furniture (tables, chairs, etc.) for events on occasion. WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Nature of work requires an ability to operate a vehicle, cell phone, and computer, and to travel up to two hours at a time to reach work locations during the day. Requires ability to identify, communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, and set-up and maintain work files.
- Occasional evening and weekend hours are required for outreach activities, meetings, and professional development. The nature of work may also require in-state travel outside the region for training or special outreach as directed.
- This position includes a combination of work from home (remote), office (mainly for organizing and picking up materials), and the community.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and four years of supervised experience in Customer Service, Social Service or Human and Family Development fields; OR holds an associate degree, from an accredited college or university in any field AND has at least two years of supervised, paid experience in case management.
- Must have a valid Driver's License with driving privileges in the State of Ohio and insurable driving record.
- Must complete background checks including FBI/BCI.
