Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, provides direct counseling services to patients.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing individual counseling and treatment/recovery plan development, monitoring, and review
• Fostering patient's social, cognitive, and behavioral skill development through therapeutic interactions
• Delivering psychosocial interventions to teach coping skills for urges, cravings, impulsive behaviors, and cognitive distortions, using motivational interviewing techniques
• Conducting individual, group, and family counseling as appropriate
• Planning and facilitating interactions to enhance social, emotional, and behavioral functioning
• Preparing and maintaining accurate case records
• Maintaining relationships with referral agencies
• Completing utilization reviews timely to ensure continuity of care

Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelors Degree a plus

Licenses/Certifications: Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in good standing

Minimum two years in a behavioral health/substance use disorder treatment program

This job operates in an indoor office environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Regularly required to sit, use hands, reach, talk, and hear; frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift/move up to 20 pounds.
