The Multnomah Athletic Club (MAC) is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and experienced Outdoor Program Manager to lead one of the most diverse and adventurous departments at our club.This is not your average management position. You'll oversee a robust portfolio of programs that take members beyond the clubhouse and into the Pacific Northwest's most inspiring environments. From skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing in the winter to hiking, kayaking, stand-up paddling, cycling, rock climbing, walking, and golf in the warmer months — this department is the gateway to the outdoors for MAC members of all ages.What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic leadership for all outdoor sports and climbing programs.
  • Manage and mentor a team of four direct reports (supervisors and head coaches) and over 30 seasonal and part-time staff.
  • Oversee operations, scheduling, and staffing for a wide range of year-round outdoor activities.
  • Collaborate with club committees to grow programs aligned with member needs and interests.
  • Lead department budgeting, employee engagement, and strategic planning.
  • Coordinate with facilities to ensure safe, high-quality experiences both indoors (climbing gym) and outdoors.
What You'll Bring
  • A passionate outdoor professional with a bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of leadership experience in a service-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated success in staff supervision, budgeting, program development, and member satisfaction.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
