Outbound Materials Handler - OReilly Auto Parts : Job Details

As an Outbound Materials Handler, you will play a critical role in our distribution center by executing various functions such as loading, picking, or packing orders for shipment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Locating and pulling merchandise by matching item codes and numbers on the pick ticket with the merchandise part number.
• Placing merchandise in totes or staging bulk items in designated areas.
• Labeling totes with the correct customer number and ensuring they do not exceed 60 lbs.
• Maintaining accuracy and productivity standards for order picking.
• Consolidating and packing stock order merchandise efficiently for customer check-in.
• Itemizing all products not shipped in totes on the freight bill immediately upon receipt.
• Ensuring all freight bills are accurately dated and totaled at the end of each day, including hazardous material documentation.
• Operating handheld computers (RF units) and/or voice picking equipment.
• Checking items against the freight bill during loading to confirm accuracy.
• Loading trucks swiftly and securely, ensuring freight is tied and secured properly.
• Keeping picking zones supplied with totes and repairing them as necessary.
• Initiating printers for sorting tickets and labels by zone.
• Maintaining a clean work area and properly disposing of cardboard and trash.
• Taking on trainer responsibilities as needed, providing guidance to new team members.
• Upholding safety standards while identifying and addressing unsafe practices.
