Job Overview
As a CPO, you'll expertly manage the design, fabrication, fitting, and ongoing care of custom orthotic and prosthetic devices across both pediatric and adult populations. You'll collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare partners
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct detailed consultations to understand each patient's mobility needs and functional goals.
- Device Design & Fabrication: Create custom orthotic and prosthetic devices in-house, integrating the latest technologies and innovation standards
- Fitting & Adjustment: Ensure optimal fit, comfort, and functionality through dynamic alignment and precision adjustments.
- Patient Education: Teach patients and caregivers proper usage, maintenance, and rehabilitation strategies for their devices
- Follow-up Services: Provide excellent post-delivery care, including repairs, refinements, and mobility monitoring
- Collaborative Care: Partner with physicians, therapists, and other medical professionals to establish comprehensive treatment plans
- Record Maintenance: Keep detailed, accurate documentation of patient assessments, device specifications, and follow-up visits
- Professional Development: Stay current on emerging O&P trends and encourage adoption of new clinical best practices and technologies
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to industry regulations (Medicare, OSHA, HIPAA, etc.) and uphold professional ethics and standards
Required Qualifications
- Certification: Active ABC- or BOC-approved CPO credential.
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Prosthetics & Orthotics (CAAHEP accredited).
- Clinical Experience: Demonstrated experience in a clinical O&P setting, including pediatric care.
- Technical Aptitude: Proficient use of fabrication tools, gait analysis, and computerized design systems.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, empathy, time management, and attention to detail
- Additional Credentials (Optional): Valid Florida O&P licensure and willingness to travel across clinic sites as needed
