RCG has a need for an Oracle Database Developer. Location: Miramar, FL Duration: 6 months + Contract to Hire Onsite 4 days a week - 14700 Caribbean Way, Miramar, FL 33027 RATE: (Assuming it will be in the $70-80 range) USC or Green Card Holder ***MANAGER CONTACT*** There was an AMOS upgrade project that was just approved. AMOS Maintenance is the leading maintenance management system for the maritime industry, specifically designed to improve operational performance, improve asset reliability, and reduce vessel downtime. This person needs to be senior enough to build Oracle Databases. Based in Miramar, FL and reporting to the Product Manager, the Engineer will be part of the core product/test engineering team working closely with Senior product engineers, product owners, architects, vendors, and engineers across multiple functional teams. Ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly, have a consistent record of accomplishment of delivery and excellent software engineering skills. Creative engineering balanced with high quality and a customer focus. Strong analytic capability and the ability to create innovative solutions. S/he will be part of discussions with the Product owners in
  • Analyzing the needs of the user
  • Working with vendors, dev engineers in designing, testing, and developing software to meet those needs
  • Recommending upgrades for existing systems and programs
  • Creating various diagrams, flowcharts and models that illustrate the type of code needed for programmers
  • Ensuring continued functionality of a program during maintenance and testing of software
  • Documenting each aspect of a system or application as a reference for future upgrades and maintenance
S/he will be working with product and project teams simultaneously and learn to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment across disparate teams.Responsibilities: At a high-level, responsibilities for this role will include:
  • Participating as the core member in existing database upgrades
  • Working with architects to design product integration & deployment.
  • Working with the Database administrators, vendors, and architects to implement standard database rules.
  • Working with security and compliance team to ensure that the product database design and deployment meet approved compliance standards.
  • Creating and managing product database documentation regarding design and integration for all products.
  • Providing database development support which involves interfacing with Design, Test Engineering, Quality Engineering, and others
  • Working with the Product Managers, Product owners & Supply chain in defining sustainability & application compatibility with obsolete hardware changes, OS upgrades for all current and new products as part of the roadmap.
  • Ensuring all product implementations go through an operational readiness review and works closely with the Operations team to complete this as part of the transition to production.
  • Providing Level 4 support for database issues that cannot be resolved by the support team and which may or may not need vendor assistance for code software changes.
QUALIFICATIONS: Educational
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science OR
  • Degree in Database administration or management
  • SQL /Oracle Developer certifications (current)
Work Experience
  • 3/5 Years in a Database development role in mediumlarge organizations.
  • Experience in developing Database Structure for various applications
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Strong command of oracle and SQL server databases.
  • Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools
  • Strong Experience with coding in T-SQL and PL/SQL
  • PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills
  • Experience working with Enterprise level Windows, Linux infrastructure environments.
  • Experience working with middleware tools like Tibco or MuleSoft
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Experience building complex vendor application systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
  • Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates, and meet production deadlines
  • Experience with mission critical, 24x7 systems
