OR Assistant - Mayo Clinic : Job Details

Functions as a member of the surgical team under the direct supervision of a registered perioperative nurse. Responsible for assisting general cleaning, running errands, relaying messages, assisting with patient care and room turnover. Licensure and Certification:Current BLS provider card required. Education:High school graduate or GED equivalent. Experience:One (1) year clinical experience in an OR preferred. Knowledge and Skills:Ability to understand the operation of some equipment. Self-directed and able to function independently. Physical Demands - Patient Care:Continuous standing/walking and occasional/intermittent sitting. Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and shoulder level to handle/operate medical equipment/devices.
