The Utility Plant Operator Trainee will gain hands-on experience and knowledge in water treatment operations. Under supervision, trainees will learn to perform key tasks to produce safe, high-quality drinking water while maintaining cost efficiency. This position involves training in various water treatment processes and ensures safe and adequate service to the community. Duties and Responsibilities As a trainee, you will:Learn how to treat drinking water using pumps, filters, tanks, and other equipment. Test samples of drinking water and treated water to check for chemicals, bacteria, and other materials. Help control the treatment process to meet safety and environmental standards. Record test results and log daily operations. Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and plant buildings. Follow all safety rules and state or federal drinking water regulations.
