Operator - Plant Red Hills - Southern Company : Job Details

An Operator is primarily responsible for the operation and maintenance of the power plant on a 24/7 365 basis. Additional responsibilities will include monitoring, troubleshooting, and utilizing a computerized work order management system (Maximo) and supporting other company programs to ensure the Plant Equipment is reliable and efficient. The Operator role will be shift work supporting a 24-7 Operation at Red Hills Operations. JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills) Experience: Previous power plant experience is preferred. Coal Power plant experience preferred. Some knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles preferred. Knowledge of power plant principles preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong understanding of Operational Preventative Maintenance Tasks. Understand the importance of Equipment Rounds/ Daily Checks.
