Operations Support SpecialistGalveston County Health District is seeking an organized and proactive Operations Support Specialist to join our EMS team! In this vital role, you'll manage the ordering, stocking, and inventory of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals for the Galveston Area Ambulance Authority (GAAA), track and maintain assets, and ensure compliance with state regulations, all in support of our mission to protect and promote the One Health of Galveston County.

What You'll Do:

Supply & Inventory Management• Serve as the Asset Custodian for GAAA, ensuring all assets are properly documented, tracked, and disposed of• Order, stock, and maintain medical supplies and pharmaceuticals to support daily operations• Manage inventory using the PSTrax system and complete monthly, quarterly, and annual audits• Maintain station supply levels to ensure vehicles are always compliant with DSHS regulations• Coordinate with purchasing for medical equipment maintenance and repair

Fleet & Equipment Support• Partner with Fleet Management to document vehicle maintenance and repair• Troubleshoot and perform minor mechanical or building repairs• Deliver supplemental supplies and equipment to stations or designated locations

Compliance & Safety Oversight• Ensure all safety materials are maintained at stations (fire extinguishers, SDS sheets, etc.)• Maintain accurate compliance records for inspections and audits• Support emergency preparedness efforts under the organization's Strategic Health Plan

Customer Service & Coordination• Collaborate with accounting, purchasing, and other departments to ensure smooth operations• Represent the EMS division at public meetings and/or hearings when needed• Respond to public health emergencies, including evenings and weekends as required• Carry out the mission, vision, and values of GCHD

Additional Responsibilities• Perform other duties as assigned• Occasionally work extended hours to ensure deadlines are met

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent required• 6+ months of logistics experience (EMS background preferred)• Strong mechanical aptitude for minor repairs and troubleshooting• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Strong computer skills, including MS Office proficiency• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks (stooping, climbing, balancing)• 50% local travel daily; must be able to provide own transportation (not reliant on GCHD vehicles)• Valid Texas driver's license• Must comply with GCHD immunization and ICS training requirements• Must pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening
