Help Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:

• Serves as a senior Operation Specialist within the Pentagon Operations Center (POC), responsible for coordinating and enhancing the operational effectiveness of PFPA's mission-critical support functions across more than 100 DoD facilities and 30,000+ personnel.
• Assists in reviewing the performance of operations center functions, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending adjustments to optimize situational awareness, incident tracking, and coordination workflows.
• Leads efforts to support strategic coordination with external entities, including federal, state, and local stakeholders such as the FBI, U.S. Secret Service, Arlington County, and other mission partners.
• Reviews and consolidates input from across PFPA components for submission to senior leadership or external authorities.

You may qualify at the GS-11 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

Time in Grade: For entry at the GS-11 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-9 or higher grade in the Federal Service. AND One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to 1) support operations center functions and organizational planning; 2) apply knowledge of organizational structures to plan, organize and develop projects; and 3) coordinate actions and resource deployment during high-visibility operational activities.

You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

Time in Grade: For entry at the GS-12 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in the Federal Service. AND One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to 1) manage and lead operations center functions and organizational planning; 2) facilitate the development of special projects and programs; and 3) coordinate actions and resource deployment during high-visibility operational activities.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
